Mascarade is Hull's leading fancy dress hire and theatrical & pantomime costume outlet. It's owned and run by husband and wife team Rick and Joanna Martyn, who bought the business as a going concern in September of 2001. Since that time they have introduced many new costumes and intend to continue adding to their already extensive stock of over 2000 costumes, every month. As well as hiring costumes to individuals for party's and nights out, Mascarade have now moved into costume hire to theatre and panto groups, both amateur and professional. Mascarade is a local store, serving Hull & East Yorkshire - England and is unable to offer mail order or a delivery service, all costumes and goods must be picked up from the store in Hull.
Jokes and magic play a big part in Rick and Joanna's plans for Mascarade, as they feel that both of these ranges will complement the fancy dress hire almost as well as the accessories to fancy dress that they already sell. (Beards, moustaches, wigs etc.etc.)
Before buying Mascarade in 2001, Rick and Joanna were best known as professional entertainers Sheer Magic, (http://www.SheerMagic.co.uk) and won the prestigious titles of British champions of Illusion and the British Magical Grand Prix Champions of 1999 and held on to both titles for the year 2000. This being the case, Magicians, both established and aspiring, can expect a warm welcome at Mascarade and a "demo" of any magical effects they would like to consider! Along side of all of this, Rick and Joanna are proud to present their popular "Last Night of Freedom!" a range of Stag and Hen night kits and accessories, examples of which can be seen else where on this site.
